The Perfect Blend of Classic and Cutting-edge Elements
When you get your hands on the Reverend Billy Corgan Signature, it will be the greatest day you've ever known. This idiosyncratic solidbody electric guitar blends vintage and cutting-edge elements into a high-performance rock machine. Its chambered korina body offers light weight along with enhanced resonance, while its string-through-body bridge lends a percussive attack and extra sustain to every note you play. A set of Railhammer Billy Corgan Signature pickups infuses this axe with P-90-tinged humbucker tones; cutting-edge electronics, which include a Bass Contour control and a treble bleed circuit, take your tone from zero to thirty-three in no time flat. The Billy Corgan Signature also includes ultra-reliable Reverend Pin-Lock tuning machines and a triple-tree string tree, plus head-turning aesthetics, thanks to a segmented aluminum pickguard and an eye-grabbing color scheme. Contemporary players with a soft spot for timeless guitar designs will find much to love about the Reverend Billy Corgan Signature.

Custom-shop-level construction and detail
The Billy Corgan Signature teems with richness and warmth, thanks to its chambered korina body. Korina, a medium-light tonewood with mahogany-like sonic characteristics, delivers all the resonance you can handle, along with a lively, responsive, and harmonic-laden sound that's guaranteed to inspire. This solidbody electric boasts a maple neck and fingerboard, both heat treated at over 300°F for an eye-grabbing look and added stability, along with a 6-bolt neck plate for added sustain and tuning constancy, plus a convenient dual-action truss rod and a tone-heightening Boneite nut. The guitarists here at Sweetwater have found the Billy Corgan Signature's 12-inch-radius, 22-fret fingerboard to be among the most playable around. Finally, a hand-initialed, serial-numbered headstock lends a high-end, custom-shop vibe to this top-shelf electric guitar.
Ultra-versatile electronics
The Reverend Billy Corgan Signature churns out enough high-octane tone to pulverize a jack-o'-lantern. This hot-rodded axe's Billy Corgan Signature pickups vaunt a cutting-edge design derived from Railhammer's acclaimed humbuckers. These ceramic-loaded, dual-coil, P-90-style pickups feature rails under the wound strings for tight, clear lows, along with poles under the plain strings for smooth, soaring highs — with zero hum. These pickups are a complete reimagining of the classic P-90, combining the vintage model's clarity and articulation with the thick, muscular sound of a humbucker. Billy Corgan Signature pickups also exhibit a cocked-wah-inflected midrange bump that sounds amazing with heavy distortion or fuzz. You'll dig this solidbody electric guitar's Bass Contour control — a passive bass roll-off that not only tightens your low end, but also revoices your pickups. Everything from scorching high gain to bluesy leads and country-fied twang is easily within the reach of the Billy Corgan Signature. You also get a treble bleed circuit that preserves your high end when you roll back your volume control. Reverend's proprietary custom jack plate and Pure Tone jack round out the Billy Corgan Signature's robust features.
Top-of-the-line hardware
When you dive into the Billy Corgan Signature, you'll find high performance in every component. This guitar's Reverend Pin-Lock tuning machines lock your strings in place for out-of-this-world tuning stability and lightning-fast string changes. A patent-pending triple-tree string tree features an extended bar that holds down three strings at a time with a single tree. You'll adore how this string tree safeguards against G-string buzz in the guitar's nut slot. You also get a string-through-body bridge with stainless steel saddles for percussive attack, maximum sustain, and a solid tone that takes off like a rocket.

Smashing Vanilla!
I worked for several years for a NYC audio shop that also provided audio services for many local festivals and on one special day I heard a particular band that really caught my attention (A Fragile Tomorrow out of Kingston, NY) and one of the guitars they played was a Reverend.
Fast forward a few years later and somehow stumbled upon Reverend guitars again as they were just introducing this BC-1. I liked the look of the new age pickguards, the 25.5" scale length and at the time, I was forming a new band that combined worship praise music, appropriate original music and complimentary cover songs to enhance the musical offerings at my church.
The BC-1 delivers a sonic punch when pushed hard and gloriously clean tones with the assistance of the bass contour control. Under the pickguards are strategically placed holes which along with the slightly thinner "wings" on the body give the player that vibrational body feedback that you miss playing a more traditional solid body guitar. Having spent 5 years with my previous band playing mainly acoustic guitar I missed that resonating communication that really connects you to your instrument via vibration.
All the innovative features of this particular model come together cohesively to bring you a truly sensational feel, tone and reliability. The roasted maple neck meansa more environmentally stable neck. The bass contour can tune your pickup tones from full-on hot humbucker to clear, clean yet warm single coil and the locking tuner machines means you're not having to retune throughout your set.
This was my first Reverend guitar and so began my love affair with this high quality and innovative American brand. Later, I also purchased several other Reverend models (Airsonic W, Club King, Descent and Ric Vito Signature and other vintage early models). Each guitar has it's own unique vibe but one thing is consistent and that is that each guitar is well made, well designed and ready to be played right out of the box. Qualify control is high while they haven't forgotten the humble guitar players who are playing and buying their guitars so their boutique designed guitars are modestly priced.
Marry a great guitar brand like Reverend with an exceptionally excellent merchant like Sweetwater and you my friend have found guitar Nirvana!
Every Smashing Pumpkins fan will love this guitar.
I saw the Pumpkins in Toronto shortly after this guitar was released, and Billy was indeed playing one (as well as one of the higher-voiced Terz models). If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is - and to make matters even more interesting, he'd basically abandoned his decades-long accumulation of boutique and vintage pedals, and was primarily rocking through a Line 6 HX Effects box! For an infamously picky guitar god, that's a pretty stunning move, especially on an arena tour.
I used my BC-1 almost exclusively for all the heavy tones on my band's recent album, and even running through an Eleven Rack into ProTools, it really did the job and the lead tones especially sound like chainsaws. For the money, it's a hell of an instrument.
It doesn't QUITE beat my American HSS Shawbucker Elite Strat for live shows, but for a guitar that's half the price, the BC-1 comes... pretty damned close. 10/10 would buy again.
